The Church of Purgatory, built between 1722 and 1725 in the heart of the historic center, is a refined example of
Baroque architecture. Also known as the Church of San Nicola da Tolentino, it is distinguished by its stone façade
and 18th-century paintings inside, and remains an important place of worship managed by the local confraternity.
During last year’s festival, the exhibition held here was the highlight of the entire program, attracting over 100,000
visitors.

La Chiesa del Purgatorio, costruita tra il 1722 e il 1725 nel cuore del centro storico, è un raffinato esempio di architettura barocca. Nota anche come chiesa di San Nicola da Tolentino, si distingue per la facciata in pietra e le
preziose tele settecentesche custodite al suo interno, ed è tuttora un importante luogo di culto gestito dalla confraternita locale. Durante il festival dello scorso anno, la mostra qui allestita è stata il momento culminante dell’intero
programma, attirando oltre 100.000 visitatori.
